Cherry Almond Coffee Cake

- 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 tsp salt shopping list
- 3/4 cup butter shopping list
- 3/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/2 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1/2 tsp almond extract shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 1 16oz can pitted dark, sweet cherries - well drained shopping list

- Almond crumb topping:- shopping list
- 2/3 cup all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 3 Tblspn sugar shopping list
- 1/4 tsp almond extract shopping list

- 2 Tblspn sliced almonds shopping list
How to make it
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
- Grease 9x9x2 inch square baking pan
- Stir together, flour, baking powder & salt - set aside
- In the large bowl of an electric mixer, beat butter, sugar, vanilla & almond extract on medium speed until well combined
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each
- Gradually add flour mixture, beating on low, just until combined
- Pour batter into prepared pan
- Top with drained cherries
- Sprinkle with almond-crumb topping
- Sprinkle with sliced almonds
- Bake 40 - 45 mins or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
- Serve warm or completely cool in pan on wore rack
