Pecan Pie Bars

- 2 2/3 c flour shopping list
- 1 c + 4 T packed brown sugar, divided shopping list
- 1 c margarine shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 1 c light corn syrup shopping list
- 1 1/2 c finely pecans, chopped shopping list
- 4 T margarine, melted shopping list
- 2 t vanilla shopping list
- 1/4 t salt shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a small bowl mix well flour and the 4 tablespoons brown sugar with fingers.
- Work in 1 cup margarine until dough begins to hold together.
- Press onto bottom of 13x9" pan.
- Bake in preheated oven 12-15 minutes or until just firm.
- In a medium bowl, lightly beat 1 cup brown sugar and the eggs.
- Add corn syrup, pecans, melted butter, vanilla and salt; mix well.
- Pour over crust.
- Bake 25 minutes or just until edges are lightly brown.
- Cool in pan on wire rack.
- Cut in 3x1" bars.
- Makes 54 bars.
- Note:
- For an attractive way to serve the bars, cut foil squares and place each bar point to point and bring up sides, then place on serving tray (they are a little sticky)
