How to make it

  • Cream shortening, butter and sugar until light and fluffy; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Dissolve soda in hot water, and add salt and lemon extract; stir into creamed mixture alternately with butter-milk, beginning and ending with flour; beat well after each addition.
  • Pour batter into a well greased and floured 10 inch tube pan or Bundt pan. Bake at 325 degress for 1 hour and 15 minutes. While still warm punch holes in cake with a toothpick; spoon Lemon Sauce over cake.
  • Lemon Sauce
  • Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 10 to 12 mnutes.

    This sounds and looks decadent. You are on a roll this morning with great recipes. This one definitely got my attention as I am a huge fan of lemon anything. Great post and a high 5 my friend.
