Tiffin squares are a Socttish treat. Don't eat more than one a day or serious weight gain will result! Great for bake sales.

Ingredients
  • You will need a swiss roll sized pan (9x9) lined with baking parchment.
  • 8oz cooking chocolate (you can use half milk and half dark as the dark can make it too sharp)
  • 8 oz Rich Tea biscuits or any vanilla cookies
  • 4 oz buttter
  • 2 Tbsp golden syrup or Karo light
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 4 tsp cocoa
  • handful of raisins

Directions
  1. Melt BUTTER,SUGAR,SYRUP AND COCOA in a pan.
  2. Add RAISINS
  3. Crush BISCUITS and add to the melted mixture.
  4. Pour mixture into pan and press down.
  5. Melt CHOCOLATE and pour over the mixture.
  6. Pop into the refrigerator and leave to set for one hour.
  7. Cut into 20 or 24 pieces.

Alterations


Before adding the raisins, try soaking them in Grand Marnier or any other orange alcohol!

Top the tiffin with melted chocolate orange instead of the chocolate stated.

Best of all, this makes the tiffin for 'adults only' and no chance of being able to eat one square!
