Ingredients
  • Besan(gram Flour) 1 cup
  • Baking powder-2 tsp
  • Onion (finely sliced) 1/3rd cup
  • Salt- to taste
  • Turmeric powder- a pinch
  • Cumin powder- 1 tsp
  • Chilli powder- 1tsp( optional)
  • Green chilli ( optional as per taste)
  • Curry leaves / dried fenugreek leaves/ fresh coriander leaves can be added for more flavor and taste.
  • Water to make batter.
  • Oil to fry

Directions
  1. Mix all ingredients with the besan( gram flour). Add water to make a smooth batter.
  2. Heat oil in a pan to a full flame.
  3. Lower the flame and drop spoonful of batter in to the oil and fry
  4. Until golden brown.
  5. Continue the same till all the batter is done.

Sounds great. I used to make them with grated carrot and fine sliced potatoes too.
Do you have a recipe for the coriander chutney type stuff (yogurt, fresh coriander, some spices)to serve with these as a "dip"?
