How to make it

  • Peel and slice carrots lengthwise; slice into 2-inch pieces.
  • In medium saucepan, simmer carrots 1 cup water with salt until tender, about 10 minutes. Drain.
  • Mix together butter, brown sugar, and 5 - 6 drops water in a small frying pan. Stir over low heat until you have a dark syrup. Add carrots and cook for 5 minutes, stirring to coat carrots. Serve.

    Glazed carrots sounds lovely, I do a similar version where you gently heat some real maple syrup infused with whole grain mustard and stir into cooked baton carrots. : )
