Perfect Pumpkin Dream Dessert Recipe
Pumpkin lovers! A friend gave this recipe to me today. She says it is fabulous. It was served to her, and she begged for the recipe. Here it is!

Ingredients
  • 29 ozs. of pumpkin (either 1 big can or 2 smaller cans)
  • 1 large can of evaporated milk
  • 1-1/2 cups of sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
  • OR 2 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice, in place of ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon
  • 1 box Duncan Hines Butter Cake mix
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, melted
  • Sweetened whipped cream for topping

Directions
  1. In large bowl, mix pumpkin, milk, sugar, eggs and spices until blended well
  2. Pour into a greased 9 X 13 dish or pan
  3. Sprinkle the box of dry yellow cake mix on top of batter
  4. Sprinkle the pecans over top
  5. Pour the melted butter over pecans
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, do not overbake.
  7. Best served warm with a dollop of sweetened whipped cream
  8. Place leftovers in refrigerator (if there are any)
