How to make it

  • Mix the wafer crumbs, walnuts, and butter, and press into a pie pan.
  • Bake at 375 for about 10 minutes. Remove from oven.
  • With an electric hand blander, beat the berries, egg white, and sugar on high until soft peaks form.
  • Fold in the sour cream.
  • Spoon the berries mix into the pie curst.
  • Freeze for 15 minutes.
  • Swirl the top, and put back in the freezer until ready to serve. (Don't let it dry out though)

My dad used to make a pie like this as well, but his crust was different. This one came a long and reminded me that sometimes dad's recipes weren't as good as he thought they were. :P

This is much like a dessert my grandmother called her "torte". She always used blueberries or cherries but the sour cream filling and cookie/walnut crust are the same. I'm definately going to try this recipe. Thanks!
