- 2 tbsp of cooking oil shopping list
- 2 generous cups of breaded raw chicken pieces (if you get your food from Angel Food Ministries, you know what little bitty chicken pieces I'm talking about!!) shopping list
- 1 bag of Oriental mix frozen veggies-broccoli, carrot, water chestnut blend-(3 bags for $4.00 at Aldi) shopping list
- 1/2 head of shredded green cabbage shopping list
- 2 slivered yellow onions shopping list
- 3 garlic cloves minced shopping list
- 2 tsp of five spice powder shopping list
- 1 tsp of ground ginger shopping list
- 2 tsp of soy sauce, couple of shakes shopping list
- 2 tsp of sugar shopping list
- 1 tbsp of loose chicken base mixed in 1/2 cup of warm water shopping list
- 1 tbsp of cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp of sherry shopping list
- 1 pinch of red pepper flakes shopping list
- cooked white or brown rice shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oil in large fry pan with sloping sides. (I used my wok)
- Add the breaded raw chicken and toss until all pieces are well browned.
- Shove to the edges of the pan and let the oil pool in the middle of the pan.
- Dump the onions on top of the hot oil.
- Dump the cabbage on top of the onions.
- Dump the frozen veggies on top of the cabbage.
- Top with garlic and all the dry seasonings.
- Wait two minutes or so and then toss like mad.
- Dump in the soy sauce, warm chicken base in water and cornstarch and sherry.
- Cover and cook another 6-8 minutes until the veggies are done to your liking.
- Serve over rice.
