Pecan Cranberry Bars

A packaged cake mix cuts the prep time on these elegant bar cookies topped with nuts and dried fruit.
Ingredients
- 1 2 layer package yellow or white cake mix shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 2/3 cup butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup orange juice shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg shopping list
- 2 cups chopped dried cranberries shopping list
- 2 cups chopped pecans shopping list
- powdered sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 13 X 9 inch pan. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, butter, orange juice, cinnamon and nutmeg. Beat on medium speed 1-2 minutes, or until combined. Stir in cranberries and pecans. Spread mixture evenly in prepared pan. Bake 20-30 minutes or until top is light golden and a toothpick inserted in center comes out with only a few crumbs. Cool completely in pan. Just before serving, cut into bars and sift with powdered sugar.
- Notes: You can also top these bars with an orange flavored frosting.
