Blueberry Gingerbread

- 1/2 cup butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup brown sugar packed shopping list
- 1 cup molasses shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 2-1/2 cups sifted flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon soda shopping list
- 1 teaspoon ginger shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1-1/4 cup fresh blueberries shopping list
- 1 cup hot water shopping list
- Sauce: shopping list
- 1 cup blueberries shopping list
- 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg shopping list
How to make it
- Cream butter then add sugar and molasses and beat until light.
- Add egg and beat well.
- Sift dry ingredients together and use a small amount to coat berries.
- Add remainder alternately with hot water to first mixture beating until smooth.
- Fold in floured blueberries.
- Bake in greased and floured rectangular pan at 350 for 35 minutes.
- Serve hot or cold with blueberry sauce.
- To make sauce combine blueberries, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg and bring to boiling point.
- Boil 5 minutes stirring occasionally.
