How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350F, grease a loaf pan.
  • Combine cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl, set aside.
  • Mix flours, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Set aside.
  • Combine melted butter and sugars in a small bowl.
  • Add sour cream, buttermilk and egg, mixing well.
  • stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.
  • Fold in applesauce.
  • Spoon half the batter into the pan.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter, then top with remaining batter.
  • Bake 1 hour, then cool in pan for 15 minutes before removing to a wire rack.
