Gingered Cranberry Sauce Recipe

Gingered Cranberry Sauce Recipe
Not only is this delicious, it is gorgeous, too! I always serve this in a clear glass turkey bowl and it sits in a place of honor because its so pretty.

Ingredients
  • 3 cups fresh cranberries, rinsed and picked over
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 9 tablespoons crystallized ginger, coarsely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons water

Directions
  1. Bring the cranberries, sugar and giners and water to a boil in a medium nonaluminum saucepan over medium heat, stirring often to dissolve the sugar.
  2. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Simmer uncovered, stirring often, until all the berries have burst. About 5 minutes.
  3. Transfer the sauce to a small bowl and cool completely. (The sauce can be made up to 1 week ahead, cooled, covered and refrigerated.) Serve at room temperature.
  4. NOTE: Good on a turkey sandwich, too!

This sounds great! I love the 'sweet heat' from crystallized ginger and I think that the flavor would pair nicely with the tart cranberries. Great post! Thanks for sharing! - Natalie
