Bayou Seafood Casserole Recipe
This is a family favorite. I mix it up a little every time I make it.

Ingredients
  • 1 8oz package of cream cheese
  • 1 stick of butter plus 2 tbsp
  • 1 can of shrimp (I also use fresh shrimp)
  • 1 can crab
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1 bell pepper chopped
  • 2 ribs celery chopped
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can of mushrooms drained
  • 1 tbsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp of tabasco (I use more)
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 3/4 cup of cooked white rice
  • 3 cups graded sharp cheese
  • cracker crumbs

Directions
  1. Melt cream cheese and butter
  2. Place in large mixing bowl
  3. Saute onion, celery and bell pepper in 2 tbsp butter
  4. Add to the first mixture
  5. Stir in mushroom soup, mushrooms, seasonings, crab, shrimp and rice.
  6. Mix well
  7. Place in 2 quart casserole dish and top with cheese and cracker crumbs
  8. bake at 350 for about 20-30 min, until bubbly

This sounds like my grand mothers cooking style.
It was great then and I am sure it is just as good today.
