Ingredients

How to make it

  • Mix together 1/3 cup flour, salt pepper and seasoning.
  • Rinse chicken and dust in flour.
  • Quickly dip dusted chicken pieces in beer and dust again (the double dip). If there is an objection to beer 1 ounce of balsamic vinegar to three ounces water is a great substitute.
  • Brown the chicken in the oil then set aside.
  • Deglaze the pan with the broth, beer or a little of both. This isn’t a lot of liquid so be careful not to reduce it.
  • In a 4 quart (5 or 6 is better) crockpot layer the onions, garlic, carrots and tatters. Poor the drippings over veggies and then add the chicken.
  • Set to low and cook for 6 – 8 hours. Meat is done at 180*F but can tolerate extra cooking time.
