Another Brandied Fruit

- 1 15 1/4 oz can pineapple chunks, drained shopping list
- 1 16 ob can sliced peaches, drained shopping list
- 1 15 1/4 oz can apricot halves, drained shopping list
- 1 10 oz jar maraschino cherries, drained shopping list
- 1 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 1/4 cup brandy, or whiskey shopping list
How to make it
- Combine all ingredients in a clean, non metal container. Stir gently. Cover and let stand at room temperatore for at least 3 weeks. Stir the fruit twice a week. Serve over ice cream or pound cake, or gingerbread waffles with ice cream. Reserve at least 1 cup starter at all times.
- This is an ongoing culture. To replenish the starter, add 1 cup sugar and 1 of the first 4 ingredients every 1 to 3 weeks. alternating fruits each time. Stir gently. Cover and let stand at room temperature at least 3 days before using.
- Yield, 6 cups.
- Apricot or peach brandy may be substituted, if desired. My preference is Jack Daniels.

I have been looking evrywhere for this. My Aunt used to make it-was'nt sure if it was a Creole thing or a Southern thing. Thank you many times over my friend.
