This is my grandma's recipe...over 80 years old! It is a favorite with everyone! Perfect with coffee or tea or anytime. It's not too sweet and its very moist!

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup mashed bananas (2-3 very ripe ones!)
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups flour - regular or self-rising
- 1/2 cup nuts, chopped or poppy seeds
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350F/180C
- Spray bread pan with cooking spray.
- Mix first 6 ingredients together. Beat 1 minute on medium speed until all 6 ingredients are well blended.
- Stir in remaining ingredients on high speed until moist and completely mixed.
- Bake for 50 - 60 minutes - depending on oven. When toothpick comes out clean, it is ready!
- Enjoy warm or not!

You forgot the pound of butter to smear on the hot or cold slices of banana bread. What is a slice of banana bread without artery clogging, heart stopping real butter! The dragon lady makes banana bread so I will have to compare the two. Yours does sound yummy. Where are my ripe bananas?

Mmmm just what husband and me felt like sitting on the couch watching t.v.... 20 minutes later it's in the oven! will let ya know how it goes coz i didn't have any butter left (too much baking!) so had to use oil. hopefully still tastes good. smells yum anyway and the bowl licking very tasty!
