How to make it

  • Pour cake mix into bowl.
  • Substitute the Amaretto for the liquid called for.
  • Prepare according to directions.
  • Bake in 2 greased and floured 8" Square cake pans,for as long as the package states.
  • Cool in pans about 10 minutes.
  • Remove from pans,cool completely on wire racks,and even tops if need be.
  • In a chilled bowl,beat cream,and confectioners' sugar until almost stiff,add the 1/4 cup Amaretto Liqueur and continue beating until stiff.
  • Spread layers with cream and then frost top and sides.
  • Chill for several hours.
  • Melt the chocolate pieces and spread in a 1/4" layer on foil lined cookie sheet,chill until firm enough to cut.
  • Cut out trees with different size cookie cuters and chill until hard.
  • Just before serving place trees on top of cake(standing)
