From Recipezaar via Christine Bettiga who claims these as "the richest and fluffiest I have had!" You be the judge! The recipe also says that the serving size for these is 1 (ONE) dumpling. Myself? I think NOT!

Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup milk

Directions
  1. Combine the flour, salt and baking powder in a bowl.
  2. Bring the butter and milk to a simmer in a saucepan.
  3. Add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients.
  4. Stir with a fork OR knead by hand 2 to 3 times just until mixture comes together.
  5. Divide the dough into about 16 small puffy dumplings
  6. Roll each piece of dough into a small rough ball.
  7. Gently lay the formed dumplings on the surface of your soup or stew.
  8. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  9. Serve immediately.

Is there anything better than a couple of steaming, fluffy dumplings in a bowl of soup? Well, maybe....but it's a small list. ;0) 5-er!!!

I make a similar dumpling soup, except I drop my dumplings in by small spoonfulls. These can spiff up any chicken soup! Great post!

You are the most wonderful group! My list would be small too, susan. I could eat them all, Pat.. we'd need to fight over them! I'd try these in my chicken soup, julia, with pleasure. I allowed, I'd pick out the dumplings with you, ga. Our next door neighbor when I was a kid (5) made an incarnation of these, joe. OK, fish, ham and bean soup it is! Thank you, my friends!
