Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, chilled
  • 1 package (18-1/2 ounces) yellow cake mix
  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry or blueberry pie filling
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • Whipped cream or ice cream, optional

Directions
  1. In a mixing bowl, cut butter into cake mix as for pastry dough.
  2. Set aside 1 cup.
  3. Pat remaining crumbs onto the bottom and 1/2 in. up the sides of a greased 13-in.x9-in.x2-in. baking pan.
  4. Spread pie filling over crust.
  5. Combine the walnuts with reserved crumbs; sprinkle over top.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
  7. Serve warm, with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
  8. Yield: 12-16 servings.
