This pie is really easy to make and delicious. Guests will love this as an appetizer. This recipe makes two pies.

Ingredients
  • 2 frozen deep dish pie shells
  • 3 lbs. ground beef (1 1/2 lb. for each pie
  • 1/2 cup minced onion
  • 7 - 10 small splashes of Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cans golden mushroom soup
  • 1/8 to 1/4 cup of white wine
  • 2 scant tsp. broth (chicken, vege or beef) I use this in place of salt
  • 1 or 2 small cans of mushrooms or 1/2 lb of fresh sliced
  • 1 pkg. of bacon cooked crispy (1/2 pkg. per pie)
  • Pepper to taste

Directions
  1. Cook bacon until it is crispy, set aside
  2. Pour off fat and reserve one tablespoon
  3. Add tablespoon to skillet
  4. Saute onions until transluscent
  5. Add beef
  6. Sprinkle the beef with white wine or mirin
  7. Sprinkle a few drops (splashes) of Worcestershire sauce (7-10) onto the beef
  8. Brown beef
  9. Crumble bacon and add to beef mixture
  10. Add mushrooms and soup (pepper to taste)
  11. Rinse the can that held the soup with about 1/8 to1/4 cup of white wine, add 1 scant tsp. of broth crystals and toss that in as well : )
  12. Stir well
  13. Cook for about 2 or 3 minutes
  14. Remove from heat and divide filling between pie shells
  15. Bake in a preheated oven at 400 degrees for 10 minutes then turn the oven heat down to 300 degrees for the last 10 to 15 minutes.
  16. Serve with green salad and fresh green beans
