Russian Rice

- 2 ounces butter shopping list
- 10 ounces long grain rice washed soaked in cold water for 30 minutes and drained shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger shopping list
- 1-1/2 teaspoons sesame seeds shopping list
- 1 pint chicken stock shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper shopping list
- 2 ounces slivered toasted almonds shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Melt butter over moderate heat then add rice and cook 10 minutes stirring constantly.
- Add ginger and sesame seeds then cook for 3 minutes.
- Pour in the stock, salt and pepper and bring to boil stirring constantly.
- Put in casserole dish then place in oven and bake uncovered for 35 minutes.
- Toss rice with a fork after 10 minutes and again after 20 minutes.
- Taste and add more salt if necessary then sprinkle with almonds and serve immediately.
