Barbecue-Flavored Baked Onions Recipe

Ingredients
  • 12 small, white onions 11/2 inch
  • 1/4 cup catsup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Freshly ground pepper to taste
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped and fried crisp

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Boil onions in lightly salted water to cover for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Drain and place in a buttered, shallow, 1 1/2 quart baking dish.
  4. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over onions.
  5. At this point, the dish may be set aside to bake at a later time.
  6. Bake, uncovered, until onions are tender; about 30 minutes.
