How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 180 C.Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Beat butter and sugar until light and creamy.
  • Add vanilla and egg and beat well.
  • Sift flour and baking powder together in a bowl.Now gradually add flour to the butter mixture.
  • {At this stage,you can add food colour,if using.}
  • Knead the dough well.Chill for 15 minutes.
  • Roll out and cut in desired shapes.
  • Place on baking sheet,lined with paper and bake at 180 C for 12-14 minutes.
  • Take out and leave for a few minutes on the baking sheet to firm up
  • slightly,then transfer to a wire rack to cool.
  • Green Icing:
  • Place icing sugar(1/2 cup) in a bowl.Add water(1 tbsp) and a few drops of green food colour.
  • Mix thoroughly with a fork until smooth.
  • Make sure it is not too runny.If it is,add more icing sugar bit by bit.
  • Dip the top of cookies in the icing or spread it over each cookie with
  • a spoon.Let it harden.
  • Melted chocolate:
  • Melt the white chocolate by breaking it into a bowl placed over a pan of simmering water.
  • Pour/spoon the chocolate in the piping bag and decorate over the cooled cookies.Leave to cool until chocolate is set.
