Mexican Popcorn Recipe

How to make it

  • Over medium heat
  • Take a large heavy skillet
  • Cover bottom of pan with cannola oil
  • Add kernals and finely chopped peppers
  • Shake and shake when starting to pop
  • After popping ceases, pour one fourth into large bowl, spray with butter spray, shake garlic powder over, and salt to taste.
  • Continue to layer, Shake and enjoy

    Thanks Linda but I never had a problem, when I chop the pepper I use seeds and all. I do know you can't tell how hot a pepper is by looking at it, that's why I say 1-2 You'll smell it when chopping...:)

    Made this again the other night and solved the problem of non-hot jalapenos. Instead of fresh jalapenos I used Penzey's dried chopped ones. Added them right with the popcorn as with the fresh. The Mexican corn is consistently spicy and starts popping right away instead of waiting until all the moisture in the fresh peppers dissapates. Want me to send you some from Penzey's?
