How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 425
  • In skillet over medium heat, add 2 tbls. butter and 2 tbls. brown sugar and stir until melted
  • Add pear and cook until softened
  • Stir in apple jelly and stir until combined
  • Set aside
  • In mixing bowl, add next 6 ingredients and mix
  • Add 1/3 cup butter and combine until crumbly
  • Add buttermilk and stir until combined
  • Turn dough out onto lightly floured board and knead lightly 4-5 times
  • Roll out to 3/4 inch thickness
  • Cut with 3 inch round cutter
  • Bake on lightly greased baking sheet for 10-13 minutes
  • Cool
  • Split and fill with pear mixture
  • Top with whipped cream and a dust of ginger
