Ingredients

How to make it

  • In a food processor, add yeast, 1/4 cup water, whirl to combine
  • Add flour and salt, process
  • Add water slowly to form a ball
  • Remove and knead on floured surface for a few minutes
  • Place in a bowl and allow to rise until doubled, about an hour
  • Divide in half, and form two loaves
  • Bake at 400 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes
  • **The secret to a nice crusty exterior is to throw a handful of ice on the bottom of the hot oven when you first put the bread in. This creates steam which develops the crust we all love on french bread.

Really? Who knew about the steam thing?! That is an excellent tip! This sounds too good to be true---so easy. On my list for this week. I love french bread!--Kn0x--
