Boozy Baked French Toast

- 1 loaf challah bread in 1" slices shopping list
- 3 cups whole milk shopping list
- 3 large eggs shopping list
- 3 tablespoons sugar shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- Your choice of any two.. 3 tablespoon quantities of: shopping list
- Bailey's, Cointreau, Frangelico, Chambord, Creme deCassis, Grand Marnier, vanilla extract, almond extract shopping list
- Bump up citrus with teaspoon zest shopping list
- Add 1/2 cup nuts and/or raisins shopping list
How to make it
- Generously grease a 9x13" baking dish with butter, salted OR unsalted.
- Arrange bread in two tightly-packed layers in the pan.
- Cut up slices can fill in gaps.
- If you are using fruit or nut fillings, this is when you add them in amongst the bread crevices.
- Whisk milk, eggs, sugar, salt and booze and pour over the bread.
- Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon and sugar.
- Wrap tightly in plastic and refrigerate overnight.
- The bread will absorb all the milk custard while you sleep.
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
- Unwrap plastic from baking pan.
- Bake for 30 minutes OR until puffed and golden.
- Cut into generous squares.
- Serve with maple syrup, fresh fruit, powdered sugar OR all of the above.
