Hamburger Goulash adapted from Paula Deen

- 2 lbs lean ground beef shopping list
- 2 large yellow or white onions, chopped shopping list
- 1 tbs minced garlic shopping list
- 3 cups water, warm shopping list
- 1 (29oz) can tomato sauce shopping list
- 1 (29oz) can diced tomatoes, plain shopping list
- 2 tbs Badia complete seasoning, or italian seasoning shopping list
- 3 tbs (low sodium is my pref) soy sauce shopping list
- 3 bay leaves shopping list
- 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked shopping list
How to make it
- In a Dutch oven, saute the ground beef until no pink remains, breaking up the beef as it cooks.
- Spoon off any grease and add in the onion and garlic and saute for 5 minutes until tender.
- Add in the 3 cups of water along with the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, seasoning, bay leaves, soy sauce and salt and pepper to taste. Stir well.
- Place a lid on the pot and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Add the elbow macaroni, stir well, return lid to the pot and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Turn off the heat, remove the bay leaves, and allow the goulash to sit for 15-30 minutes before serving.
