Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cut pork into egg-sized chunks.
  • Peel garlic and chop roughly.
  • Dissolve salt to taste in vinegar.
  • Mix pork, garlic, vinegar, and thyme sprigs in nonreactive pot.
  • Cover and marinate in refrigerator 1 to 3 days.
  • Bring to boil, covered, then uncover and simmer until pork is tender, 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Remove meat from pot and keep warm.
  • Reduce sauce to 1/3 over medium heat, 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Slice rolls in half and use to sop up sauce.
  • Remove thyme sprigs from pot and serve meat and content s of pan with sopped rolls.

    I can't wait to try this one because I have eaten this at the Beach. My co worker, at that time, did this every 4th of july.It is Superb! I didn't get her recipe before I moved from the beach but I remembered the ingredients and that you had to soak it for awhile but not how to prepare so thank you for this one. I had to flag this bcause I know how wonderful this is.

    Whoa - that IS an interresting recipe...and 8 cups of vinegar does sound like a lot. Erin just made a pulled pork recipe with mainly vinegar that she said turned out absolutely delicious, so I'm thinking this recipe is somewhere along that same line (just with a lot more garlic!) - I'm gonna have to give it a try...very interesting, connor ~
