I mixed this formula to clean a vintage 1970's era wine rack with many dusty nooks and chippy paint with rust spots. using a lint free cloth i was able to pull all the dust off and bring the finish up to a like new luster. Read more the rust spots disappeared. i mixed this batch in a ziplock bag, but it worked so well that next time i will use a small jar with a lid. See less
Ingredients
- Ziplock bag shopping list
- 1 level tablespoon black shoe polish shopping list
- 2 heaping tablespoons petrolium jelly shopping list
- mineral oil shopping list
How to make it
- Into a ziplock freezer bag measure the black shoe polish and petrolium jelly. add a small amount of mineral oil and squish the bag to mix the contents. add oil as needed to aquire a uniform paste.
- using a lint free cloth, soft toothbrush, or fine steel wool apply the restorer to wrought iron. wipe dry with the cloth.
