Oh my goodness, I had long forgotten about these little babies - a staple of the 50s and 60s, I think. My mother-in-law fed her 12 children on sandwiches like this...hearty, full of fat and calories, and always leaving you wanting 2nds. The horseradish is a nice addition, especially for us grown-ups who want to return to some of the fare from our youth. Thanks for yet another tasty sandwich post from you - I have to dub you "The King Of King Sandwiches"!

Yes! Yes! A thousand times yes, bobby! My dad used to make these babies too. It is so good to see this again and in print, to boot. 5 5 5 5 5.

Bobby, we ate these all the time, that's probably what's wrong with me now. In the south, we have a restaurant chain called Lizard Thicket, sort of like a eat-n-park, anyhow this is on the menu only on Sundays...:)

Ate these as a kid, only on white bread and using a thinner bologna. Great sandwich. Will have to copy and paste this recipe as a reminder to try them your way. Sounds wonderful AND brings back great memories.
