My Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe
For some reason, this recipe makes the best chocolate chip cookies. Everyone loves them and asks for the recipe. Instead of stirring in the chips at the end, I let the mixer "crunch" them up a little bit. Seems to make them more chocolaty... More

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 12 oz semisweet chocolate chips

Directions
  1. Place sugar, brown sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla in mixer. Turn to low speed and mix for 30 seconds. Stop and scrape bowl. Turn to medium speed and beat for 30 more seconds.
  2. Sift flour, salt and baking soda and powder together. Gradually add flour mixture to sugar mixture on low speed, about 2 minutes. Increase speed a little and beat for 30 seconds. Add chocolate chips and mix on low speed for another 15 seconds.
  3. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased baking sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake at 375 for 10 to 12 minutes.
  4. Yields about 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
