Blue Cheese And Shallot Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2c chopped shallots
  • 3Tbs butter
  • 2c all purpose flour
  • 1Tbs sugar
  • 21/2tsp baking powder
  • 1tsp salt
  • 1tsp ground mustard
  • 1/4c cold butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1c milk
  • 3/4c crumbled blue cheese
  • 2Tbs grated parmesan cheese

Directions
  1. In small skillet,saute shallots in butter till tender;set aside
  2. In a large bowl,combine flour,sugar,baking powder,salt and mustard. Cut in butter till mixture resembles coarse crumbs. In a small bowl,whisk egg and milk. Stir into crumb mixture just till moistened. Fold in cheeses and reserved shallot mixture.
  3. Transfer to a greased 8x4" loaf pan . Bake at 325 for 50-60 mins. or till toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool for 10 mins before removing from pan to wire rack.
