Stuffed Hot Dogs

My mom would make this when I was growing up, my grams made it for my mom and her siblings when they were growing up so its been handed down and it may sound strange it's really very good, one of my boyfriends favorites and a family favorite for sure.
Ingredients
- 6 all beef hot dogs shopping list
- 1 package of betty crocker butter and herb mashed potatoes shopping list
- 3 slices of American cheese shopping list
How to make it
- prepare package of mashed potatoes according to directions on box-set aside to cool a bit.
- place hot dogs on a foil lined baking sheet.
- split hot dogs lengthwise - do not go all the way through you just want to make a well - use your fingers to spread apart.
- spoon in mashed potatoes - i use a small cereal spoon because its easier to get into the well - keep hot dog spread while spooing in potatoes, once the potatoes are in the hot dog will stay open.
- top each hot dog with a half slice of american cheese.
- place under broiler until cheese is bubbly - about 5-10 minutes.
- serve with veggies - tater tots - french fries - mac-n-cheese
- lastly - don't knock it 'til you try it! :)

hey these are awsome i make them all the time but our family called them sail boats.havent tried it with the butter herb but i think i will. thanks glad others enjoy this one also.
