Puff Pastry  Ears Recipe
whether called palmiers, pigs or elephant ears these are great with coffee and are easy and tasy

Ingredients
  • 1 pkg puff pastry sheets thawed
  • 1/2 butter, melted and cooled
  • Granulated sugar as needed for sprinkling and rolling
  • finely chopped nuts as desired ( optional )

Directions
  1. Prep does not include chilling time
  2. Melt butter , cool and set aside
  3. Have puff pastry sheets thawed
  4. Roll out the 2 sheets, brush butter between sheets , sprinkle with sugar, between and top
  5. Place together and roll out into a flat rectangle
  6. Sprinkle with sugar again
  7. Roll up pastry jelly roll style from long end and chill well
  8. Cut into slices
  9. Roll slices in sugar again till spread out and flattened ( should look like ear shape )
  10. Bake, spaced apart on parchment lined baking sheet, 400 F about 15 mins or nicely browned. and golden.
