Secret Agent at recipezaar contends that if your favorite roadkill is not available you can substitute a pork roast. Check out (http://www.traditionalmusic.co.uk/folk-song-lyrics/five_pounds_of_possum.htm)

Too cute! We need to open a cafe named "Road Kill Cafe" And serve this one. Would ne the hit of the town. Follow it up with my witches fingers for dessert.

Sounds good but I think I'll go with the pork roast. Even in the South it's getting mighty hard to find fresh road kill. Thanks.

10 hours in a crock -- this is a "fall off the bone" recipe!
Wish I knew where to get a possum.
Can't get the song link to work.

Sorr, but although popular in the south, the possums around here are too scrawny, and I just can't get past how much they look like an oversize rat. But the pork version sounds great!!

As far as I'm concerned, fish? It wouldn't bother me in the least if those ugly looking disgusting animals were wiped out entirely. My hubby ate possum stew at his granddaddy's farm and loved it! I never laid eyes on one until about 5 years ago... yuck! I agree, the pork version is good sounding. Enjoy! Thanks, fish...

It all depends whether your possum is a city dweller or country. Country ones are good! This is good eatins!
