How to make it

  • In a soup pot heat oil.
  • Add onions and cook until soft and translucent.
  • Add both mushrooms and cook over med. heat for 5 minutes.
  • Add flour and cook briefly.
  • Add stock, simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  • You may puree half the soup and/or add about 1 cup of cream or half and half.. (optional)

    I love being able to control the amount of salt, and with that said...I Love salt, but Campbells soup goes overboard, even for me. Thanks

    this sounds good..I like mushroom soup and can't have the canned stuff..Home made is always better!!

    Love me some mushroom soup, I do! The only recipe I've seen like this was on the side of a soup cup, and some of the words had rubbed off. Boy, am I glad to find another one.
