Toffee Apple French Toast

- 8 cups French bread 1" cubes shopping list
- 3 Mediun granny smith apples, peeled and chopped shopping list
- 1/2 cup Raisans or currants shopping list
- 8 oz. 1 Pkg. cream cheese, softened shopping list
- 3/4 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 3/4 cups milk shopping list
- 2 teaspoons vanilla shopping list
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 cup English toffee bits or almond Brickle chips shopping list
- 5 eggs shopping list
How to make it
- Place 1/2 of the bread crumbs in a greased 13'x9"x2" baking dish. Top with apples and raisins.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugars (1/4 cup white and all brown sugar) and 1/4 cup milk and 1 teaspoon of the vanilla and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, until smooth.
- Add the English Toffeee Bits.
- Spread over apples and raisens.
- Top with remaining bread crumbs.
- In another mixing bowl, beat the eggs and remaining milk, vanilla, cinnamon and 1/4 cup of sugar, pour over the bread.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking.
- Let stand at room temperature.
- Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
