Another great recipe I found while on the hunt for my bridal shower brunch! This is from Healing Stone Bed and Breakfast in Hermann, MO. Start the day before, let casserole sit overnight before baking.

Ingredients
  • 8 cups French Bread 1" cubes
  • 3 Mediun Granny Smith Apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup Raisans or Currants
  • 8 oz. 1 Pkg. Cream Cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups Milk
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup English Toffee Bits or Almond Brickle Chips
  • 5 Eggs

Directions
  1. Place 1/2 of the bread crumbs in a greased 13'x9"x2" baking dish. Top with apples and raisins.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugars (1/4 cup white and all brown sugar) and 1/4 cup milk and 1 teaspoon of the vanilla and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, until smooth.
  3. Add the English Toffeee Bits.
  4. Spread over apples and raisens.
  5. Top with remaining bread crumbs.
  6. In another mixing bowl, beat the eggs and remaining milk, vanilla, cinnamon and 1/4 cup of sugar, pour over the bread.
  7. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  8. Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking.
  9. Let stand at room temperature.
  10. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
