Chevere Fig Spread Recipe
A nice combination of ingrdients for a tasty spread.

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup snipped dry figs
  • 3 oz goat cheese crumbled
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3 Tbs fresh snipped basil
  • 2Tbs milk
  • 1 Tbs fresh snipped thyme
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts toasted
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • crackers or sliced baguettes

Directions
  1. Pour boiling water over figs to cover and let stand 15 mins and drain
  2. Stir together, goat cheese, milk, sour cream and herbs
  3. Add drained figs, stir into mixture and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Stir in half the nuts.
  5. Cover and chill 24 hours for best flavor
  6. Sprinkle with remaining nuts and a bit more of the thyme
  7. Makes 1 1/2 cups or 12, 2 Tbs servings each

Do you think fresh figs could be used...without the boiling water? Love figs! Love this recipe.

The boiling water softens them to become more spreadable. But you could try it your way !
