How to make it

  • Saute onion and garlic in hot butter. Remove from skillet. Trim excess fat from chops and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Brown chops in skillet,;our off fat.
  • Lower heat,add bay leaf and chicken broth. Cook,covered over low heat 1 hour. Transfer chops to serving plate and keep hot
  • Heat juices in skillet,reduce to 1/2. Add sour cream,onion-garlic mixture and paprila,blending thoroughly. Heat through,but don't boil. Pour over chops and serve.

    I like sour cream, but this was too much for me. I think without the sour cream and paprika this would be very delicious! If I try it again I would cut the sour cream in half.
    I used bone-in chops, only 4 of them as that's all that would fit in my 13.5" skillet. 6 small boneless chops would probably work out ok. The cook time would be far too long for boneless chops though, mine were cooked in 25 minutes on low with the bone. So check on them early.
    They were still good, but the sour cream diluted a lot of the flavor, so I'd like to cut it in half next time and see how it goes. 3.5 stars as is.
