Christmas Bark

- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 sticks (8 oz) good quality butter, preferably Kate's shopping list
- 1 Tablespoon light corn syrup shopping list
- 1teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 1 cup high quality chocolate chips shopping list
- 1 cup sliced almonds shopping list
How to make it
- Place butter, sugar, vanilla, and corn syrup in heavy bottom 2 quart pan
- Stirring constantly with metal spoon, bring to 315 degrees on candy thermometer on medium heat
- At 315 degrees work quickly, pour toffee onto greased cookie sheet with edges. Use clean metal spoon to quickly spread toffee over entire pan before it sets. Quickly sprinkle chocolate chips on top wait a couple minutes until they soften the spread with palate knife over toffee, sprinkle with sliced almonds.
- Let dry overnight in cool spot
- Break up with butter knife and store in covered tin.
