Apple French Toast Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cut butter
  • 2 Tbsps corn syrup
  • 2 tart apples, peeled and sliced
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 loaf French bread (16 oz)

Directions
  1. Method: Syrup:
  2. Cook sugar, butter and corn syrup until thick.
  3. Pour it into bottom of a 9x13 baking dish.
  4. And then:
  5. Peel, core and slice thinly the apples.
  6. Bake them on cookie sheet at 400 for about 15 minutes.
  7. Spread apples evenly over the syrup.
  8. Slice bread 1 1/2" thick and put into separate baking dish.
  9. Mix the remaining ingredients and pour over the bread.
  10. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  11. Put bread onto syrup and apples.
  12. Bake uncovered 40 minutes at 350 degrees.
  13. Serve topped with heated spicy applesauce, plain yogurt and lemon zest.
