Apple French Toast

- 1 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cut butter shopping list
- 2 Tbsps corn syrup shopping list
- 2 tart apples, peeled and sliced shopping list
- 5 eggs shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup milk shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1 loaf French bread (16 oz) shopping list
How to make it
- Method: Syrup:
- Cook sugar, butter and corn syrup until thick.
- Pour it into bottom of a 9x13 baking dish.
- And then:
- Peel, core and slice thinly the apples.
- Bake them on cookie sheet at 400 for about 15 minutes.
- Spread apples evenly over the syrup.
- Slice bread 1 1/2" thick and put into separate baking dish.
- Mix the remaining ingredients and pour over the bread.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Put bread onto syrup and apples.
- Bake uncovered 40 minutes at 350 degrees.
- Serve topped with heated spicy applesauce, plain yogurt and lemon zest.
