Grilled Scallops And Shrimp With Ginger Garlic Sauce Recipe Chefmeow / All my dishes

GRILLED SCALLOPS AND SHRIMP WITH GINGER GARLIC GLAZE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Steep Estate in Elmo, Texas in 1989.

Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3 large cloves garlic pressed
  • 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1/2 pound scallops
  • 1/2 pound large shrimp
  • 1 teaspoon old bay seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Directions
  1. In small saucepan over low heat clarify butter then add garlic and black pepper.
  2. Allow garlic to cook three minutes then remove from heat and add ginger.
  3. Allow mixture to combine at least 15 minutes.
  4. Using kitchen shears cut along back of the shrimp and remove veins.
  5. Remove legs but keep shells and tail attached.
  6. In medium mixing bowl combine shrimp and scallops.
  7. Drizzle lemon juice over seafood and season with old bay, salt and black pepper.
  8. Allow seafood to marinate ten minutes.
  9. Prepare grill and seafood trays for medium high direct grilling.
  10. Arrange shrimp on grill and cook 2 minutes then add scallop and cook 3 minutes longer.
  11. Baste often with garlic butter sauce.
  12. Turn seafood and continue grilling until done about 3 additional minutes.
