Lace Cookies
From wynnebaer 15 years agoIngredients
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed shopping list
- 1/3 cup butter shopping list
- 2 tbls. whipping cream shopping list
- 3/4 cup finely chopped almond, pecans, or unsalted peanuts shopping list
- ( I have made all 3 and prefer the pecans) shopping list
- 3 tbls. flour shopping list
- whipped cream-optional shopping list
- semisweet chocolate chips, melted-optional shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350
- Put brown sugar, butter and whipping cream into saucepan and bring to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly
- Remove from heat
- Stir in nuts and flour
- Line cookie sheets with parchment paper
- Spoon batter by tablespoons 3 inches apart
- Spread batter into circle
- Bake for 6-8 minutes or until edges are light brown
- Remove from oven and cool slightly
- When cool enough to hold their shape, lift off with spatula and flip cookies over and wrap around something round (I have used the handle of a wooden spoon until I got round dowels from Home Depot)
- ~If cookies become too crisp to roll, reheat for 30 seconds or so~
- These cookies are great on their own but I have dipped the ends into melted chocolate and let harden
- Then filled with whipped cream right before serving
