A quick but tasty dessert , a little different, but always a hit when I serve it.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup flour
  • 6 tablespoons Cocoa
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 3/4 cup very hot tap water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped nuts(optional)
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Fudge Sauce:
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup +2 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 6 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • Ice cream as a topping

Directions
  1. In ungreased 9x9x2" pan mix flour,sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa ,baking powder and salt.
  2. Mix in milk , oil and vanilla with a fork till smooth.
  3. Stir in nuts if using.
  4. Spread smoothly in pan.
  5. Sprinkle brwon sugar n remaining cocoa over top of batter.
  6. Pout hot water over batter in pan, DO NOT STIR:
  7. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 40 minutes.
  8. Cool in pan 15 minutes , then spoon into dessert dishes.
  9. Top each with a scoop of ice cream and hot fudge sauce.
  10. Hot Fudge Sauce
  11. In sauce pan combine sugar cocoa and salt.
  12. Stir in water and cook over meduim heat, stirring constantly until bubbly.
  13. Simmer 3 minutes.
  14. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla n margarine.
  15. Serve hot or cold
