This recipes comes from the Maxwell Estate in Denton, Texas that I purchased in 1984.

Ingredients
  • 1 medium onion coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 medium head cabbage coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup barley
  • 3 cubes beef bouillon
  • 1/2 cup catsup
  • 4 cups water

Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer 1 hour.
