Tea Time Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter,at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 tbsp golden syrup,optional
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup raisins

Directions
  1. Beat butter and sugar with an electric mixer until creamy.
  2. Add the eggs,one at a time,beating well after each addition.
  3. Add vanilla and golden syrup.
  4. Sift together the flour,salt and baking powder and fold raisins in the flour mixture.
  5. Fold this into the butter mixture, alternatively with the milk.
  6. Pour into a 7" round tin,well greased and lined.
  7. Bake in a pre-heat oven at 180 C for about 30-35 minutes or until tested with a skewer.
  8. Remove from the oven and cool over a wire rack.
