Basil and Cheese Scones

- 2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/4 cup shredded or grated parmesan cheese shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil or 3 tsp. dried shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper shopping list
- 2/3 cup buttermilk shopping list
- 3 tablespoons oil shopping list
- 1 tablespoon egg substitute or 1 egg shopping list
How to make it
- Combine the flour, cheese, baking powder, baking soda,
- basil and pepper in a medium bowl.
- Add the buttermilk and oil.
- Mix until dry ingredients are JUST moistened.
- Divide the dough into 2 balls.
- Knead gently 3-4 times on floured surface.
- Pat the dough into 2 circles 7-8 inches in diameter.
- With a sharp knife score each into 6 wedges but do not cut all the
- way through.
- Bake in preheated 400 F. oven, 10-12 minutes
- until golden brown.
