Danish Meatballs Recipe
Danish classic can use turkey instead of chicken

Ingredients
  • 250g - 9oz minced pork
  • 250g - 9oz minced chicken or turkey
  • 1 onion grated
  • 60g - 2oz fresh breadcrumbs
  • 5-6 tblsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • salt and fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 egg beaten
  • flour for dusting
  • oil for shallow frying
  • lemon wedges to serve

Directions
  1. place pork, chicken, onion, breadcrumbs, milk and thyme in a bowl
  2. mix well and add salt and pepper to taste
  3. stir in the egg ( mix needs to be soft but not sticky)
  4. lightly flour hands and shape into 16 small balls
  5. fry over med heat for 8 - 10 min, turn often to brown
  6. drain on kitchen towel and serve warm with lemon wedges

Real Danish meatballs are not served with lemon wedges! They are eaten with boiled potatoes and gravy. I'm sure this is very nice, but it just shouldn't be called Danish Meatballs.
